Railway Pde Hornsby Childcare Centre

Into Architecture's second Childcare Centre to obtain DA approval in 2024 is to be located on Railway Parade, Hornsby. The site dimensions permitted the design of a large basement car park whilst maintaining generous front, side and rear landscaping  buffers between neighbouring residential properties. Utilising indoor and outdoor play areas over two building levels, a centre capacity of 98 Children was achieved. The two storey Childcare Centre is neatly and efficiently arranged under a long pitched metal roof form with single storey wings breaking out from the ground floor, each with outdoor play balconies above. A contemporary residential-scale façade presents to the street behind a landscaped front setback and generous front patio space for pedestrian entry.
